Dr. Maher Hussein is a General, Vascular and Laparoscopic Surgeon at the American University of Beirut since 1990 and is currently a faculty member of the Surgical Proctorship Program to train surgeons in Advanced Laparoscopy in 40 different countries, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Board member of the Mediterranean & Middle Eastern Endoscopic Surgery Association, Member of the European Laparoendoscopic Surgery and President of the Lebanese Society of Laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Hussein performed at the A.U.B.M.C. the First Laparoscopic Whiple Procedure in 2006, the First Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy in 2000, First Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and First Laparoscopic Herniorrhaphy in 1992.
