About Us

BiographyDr. Maher Hussein is a General, Vascular and Laparoscopic Surgeon at the American University of Beirut since 1990 and is currently a faculty member of the Surgical Proctorship Program to train surgeons in Advanced Laparoscopy in 40 different countries, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Board member of the Mediterranean & Middle Eastern Endoscopic Surgery Association, Member of the European Laparoendoscopic Surgery and President of the Lebanese Society of Laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Hussein performed at the A.U.B.M.C. the First Laparoscopic Whiple Procedure in 2006, the First Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy in 2000, First Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and First Laparoscopic Herniorrhaphy in 1992.

Awards:

• Award of Appreciation from the President of The 3rd Abu Dhabi Annual Surgical Conference March 2007, Abu Dhabi.
• Award of the Jordanian Surgical Society, during the 29th and 31st Conferences Jointly with the European Association for the Endoscopic Surgery and the European Association of Video Surgery.
• Received Certificate of Appreciation from the President of the Congress at the 7th Mediterranean & Middle Eastern Endoscopic Surgery in Hourghada-Egypt, 2nd-5th December, 2008.
• Award of Appreciation as Invited speaker from the President of The 3rd Abu Dhabi Annual Surgical Conference Organizers, 1-4 March 2007, Abu Dhabi.
